Camille Turner shares research and creative work from her museum residency and Slavery North fellowship.

Turner is an interdisciplinary artist, scholar, and creator of the Afronautic methodological framework, which reimagines colonial archives from the perspective of a liberated future. A graduate of OCAD University, she recently completed her PhD at York University’s Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change, along with a provost’s postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto’s Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design. She is the recipient of the 2022 Artist Prize from the Toronto Biennial of Art, and her work is held in major public and private collections across Canada.
 

At her artist talk, she’ll discuss her latest research and cinematic works while researching local histories of slavery in local archives this fall.
