About this Event
View mapThe Okanagan Wellbeing Collective is proud to announce Chapel Unplugged, a new event series aimed at combating the growing epidemic of loneliness by fostering real-world connections and creative expression. The event will take place on Monday, September 30, and Thursday, November 7, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the historic Old Chapel.
In a recent advisory, the U.S. Surgeon General declared loneliness a public health crisis, highlighting the urgent need for initiatives that bring people together in meaningful ways. Chapel Unplugged is a proactive response to this call, offering students, faculty, and staff a much-needed break from their screens to engage in face-to-face interaction, creativity, and fun.
Chapel Unplugged will transform the Old Chapel into a digital-free zone where participants can immerse themselves in various craft activities, conversation, or quiet reflection. The event emphasizes the importance of building authentic connections in a supportive and relaxed environment away from distracting devices.
The event is open to all UMass students, faculty, and staff, with no prior registration required. Whether you’re interested in hands-on crafting, engaging in thoughtful conversation, or simply enjoying the company of others, Chapel Unplugged promises a rejuvenating experience for all.
