https://fac.umass.edu/Online/default.asp?BOparam::WScontent::loadArticle::permalink=Multiverse2425&BOparam::WScontent::loadArticle::context_id=Multiverse focuses on the recognition, conscious or subconscious, and interpretation of the concept of the multiverse in contemporary visual art.
For well over a century, physicists have speculated that numerous parallel universes exist, but this belief has only recently gained more widespread recognition in popular culture through such films as “Everything Everywhere All at Once” and science fiction novels such as “The Space Between Worlds.”
Featuring digital art from Europe and the Americas, along with painting, collage, assemblage and sculpture from the northeastern United States, “Multiverse” explores the manner in which the conscious or subconscious recognition or interpretation of the multiverse is leaving its mark on contemporary visual art.
Reception: Friday, April 4, 5-7 p.m.
Gallery hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 1-5 p.m.; Wednesday, 1-7 p.m.
