First Impressions is a show about time. How does the time you spend with a subject in the process of art-making impact the finished piece? How do artistic mediums interact with and represent the concept of time? From a first impression in the click of a camera shutter, to an hour of focused observation in a figure drawing class, to a piece painted slowly over the course of many sittings, Liana Rice and Charlotte Collins explore the interactions of time, perception, and art-making and invite viewers to do the same.
