Guest Speaker Dr. Gloria Caballero Roca, an Afro-Latina and UMass Amherst alumna, will discuss her academic and professional journey. She holds dual Master’s degrees and two Ph.Ds., specializing in Hispanic Culture, Women’s and Gender Studies, and Latin American Literatures. A passionate advocate for social justice, she has published two books and over a dozen articles on topics like gender inequality and environmental issues. Dr. Cabellero Roca has organized international symposia and contributed locally through her work with The Care Center and as a former member of the Holyoke School Committee. Her accomplishments include the Policy & Leadership Excellence Award and the Fearless Woman Award.
