The OEI Doodle Booth is the first stage of the Community Inter-faces Project, a program designed to increase positive points of contact for UMass students, staff, and faculty through pop-up events that create moments of belonging and connection. The Booth operates in two parts: an artist inside the booth creates rapid, bespoke portraits of participants while a second OEI ambassador engages them in a “tiny conversation” while they pose for about two minutes. Participants leave with a hand-drawn portrait and a direct connection to people from our office.
