Come join the Peer Health Educators who will guide you through various form of meditation. No prior experience necessary. Curious what contemplative practices are or don't know where to start? Check out the "Intro to Comtemplative Practices" session. See attached for more details. Free and open to all UMass students.
Introductory to Contemplative Practices
We recognize the diversity of contemplative practices by introducing and describing different types of activities. After learning about some evidence-based benefits to contemplative practices participants will be able to practice a focused meditation.
Nature Reflection Meditation
This nature-based visual reflection guides participants through a contemplative practice using images as tools for self-reflection. Through guided imagery, journaling, and discussion, students will explore their thoughts, emotions, and values while fostering mindfulness and awareness.
Sensory Meditation
A guided meditation session using sight, touch, smell, sound, and taste, to mindfully explore a food-related object and deepen sensory awareness.
