The Office of the Provost and the Office of Equity and Inclusion offers STRIDE (Strategies and Tactics for Recruiting to Improve Diversity and Excellence) Workshops for librarians, tenure-track, non-tenure-track faculty with an important role in faculty recruitment efforts.

STRIDE Training is focused on increasing faculty diversity by leading interactive small-group discussions focused on understanding and highlighting implicit biases in the faculty recruitment and retention process and providing tactics to mitigate their impact. The two-hour, faculty-led workshops aim to help faculty produce diverse candidate pools and conduct effective searches, which include attracting strong applications, developing a strong short list, managing candidate visits, and selecting the best candidates.

STRIDE is required for all faculty and librarians who plan to serve on a search committee. Access to candidate files will only be granted upon completion of the training.
