UMassBRUT will present a fall exhibition Windows on UMass from October 7th to December 20th at the John Olver Design Building Gallery, with a symposium and receptions on October 25th at 12:30pm and on November 8th at 11:30am.  The Gallery is free and open to the public Monday through Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm.

Windows on UMass is a project that inspired students to interpret the brutalist buildings of the UMass Amherst and UMass Dartmouth campus through their windows. The exhibit showcases original work of students from both universities. It comprises various mediums including but not limited to photography, digital renderings, drawings, and writings. Windows on UMass renews the public gaze on these long-standing buildings by highlighting their context as well as the people that use them.

The Windows on UMass exhibit is led by UMassBRUT founding board members Timothy M. Rohan, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of the History of Art & Architecture, and Ludmilla Pavlova-Gillham, Senior Campus Planner and Architect.

Exhibition curators and designers: Colleen Tully, MArch ’24, Erica DeWitt, MArch’23, Lincoln Nemetez-Carlson, MArch ’23, with the assistance of Kay Tierney, MArch candidate.

We encourage community members and the public to stop in and see the beautiful artwork on display. Visitor parking is available at the Campus Center Parking Garage; the rate is $1.85/hr. and it is open 24/7.
